The Teacher Eligibility Test, known as TET, is the minimum qualification required in India for a person to be eligible for an appointment as a teacher for Classes I to VIII. The test is mandatory for teaching jobs in Indian government schools.
*Who is eligible for TET?
The basic eligibility criteria are: Candidates should be class 12 passed or a graduate from a recognized university with a minimum of 45 per cent marks. Candidates should have obtained a Diploma in Education or Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) or completed any other prescribed teacher training programme/course.
